November 17 getting ready for the holidays
Well around here Christmas is a big time. I love the holiday season. I started pulling out the decorations. How does everything get broken over the year, when everything is put away out of the way. I opened the ornament box and some of my ornaments are broken. Some of these are from different parts of the world and some are quite old. I was very upset. So now I have to go out and buy some new ornaments. I hate shopping at Christmas time as it is. All the stores put in the cinnamon scents in their vents, I am highly allergic to it. So I do most of my shopping over the net or do a quick list and rush in the store and rush out again. October 31 Halloween
Well it is Trick or Treat Night Tonight. We live in a small community and I am wondering where all these children come from. We go through anywhere from 10 to 15 bags of candy every year. Why OH Why did we not move to a gated community. October 24 Grocery store pricesI got redid the monthly budget again. I thought the prices finely started to level themselves out. But now that the gas prices have finely gone down. The food prices are now up. I was hoping to put a little more to the Christmas budget this week. But no can do. When are the prices going to start going down. I buy the same foods every week; within a few items. Since May they budget has gone up and down between 20-30 dollars a week total. October 22 SOS Planning Day
Well I find a lot easier way for the kids to go through the notes. The history this year has a lot of notes, so I have made up a question and answer sheet based on the notes.
Makes our day go a lot faster and smoother. October 10 How we store our curriculumI have been asked how we store our curriculum, a lot in the past week. Since we use FIAR as our many curriculum, I have come up with a very easy way. I went out and bought the cheap 3 prong folders. Found them on sale for 10 cents a piece and bought 3.00 for the year and another 2.00 for the other 2 kids for their reports and research projects. We then labeled the folders for each book we are covering, and put what ever we cover into them. She then gets to decorate the folder with her own art designs that go along with the book we are doing. This makes our life easier. We also add our math pages, and any other workbook pages we might happen to use. I am thinking about expanding this and use one for every week we school. I have already been thinking what I can do next year to change some things around. Derina |
